Selection Guide for Chemical Dosing Metering Pumps: I. Determine Pressure: The rated pressure of the selected dosing pump should be slightly higher—typically by 10–20%—than the actual maximum pressure required. Avoid selecting an excessively high pressure rating, as this wastes energy and increases both equipment investment and operating costs. II. Determine Flow Rate: The flow rate of the selected dosing pump should be equal to or slightly greater than the process requirement. Ideally, the pump should operate within 30–100% of its rated flow capacity to ensure high repeatability and accuracy. For economic and practical reasons, it is recommended to select a pump where the required flow rate falls within 70–90% of the rated capacity. III. Determine Pump Head (Liquid End) Material: Once the specific model and specifications are determined, select the material for the wetted parts based on the properties of the pumped medium. This step is crucial; improper material selection can lead to corrosion damage, leakage, or system contamination. In severe cases, it may cause major accidents. Standard operating temperatures range from -30°C to 100°C, though specialized pumps offer wider ranges (e.g., high-temperature pumps with insulation jackets can handle temperatures up to 500°C). Regarding particle size, the medium should ideally contain particles smaller than 0.1 mm; for larger particles, we can modify the pump's flow-path structure to meet specific requirements. Regarding viscosity, the standard range is 0–1000 mm²/s, though specialized pumps can handle up to 6000 mm²/s (we offer high-viscosity pump heads). For mechanically actuated diaphragm pumps, the flow rate is measured at the rated pressure (using clean water at room temperature); if the operating pressure drops, the actual output flow rate will exceed the rated value.
